We know that coming to a chiropractic doctor’s office for the first time can be a nerve racking experience. There is paperwork to fill out, new people to meet, names to learn, and getting to know your way around the office. All of this can hits the senses at same time and may cause overload.
Don’t worry. Put yourself at ease. Our aim is to remove all stress and tension. We’ll make you feel totally comfortable. In this area of the website you will be able to take care of some of the items necessary for your visit prior to arriving. This way you can fill out some of the paperwork in the comfort of your own home.
Upon entering our Cooper City Chiropractic office, our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a new member of our family. We will ask you to fill out our chiropractic patient forms located in the New Patient Center. The paperwork provides us with important information about you and your condition.
Next you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related problems and concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for our doctors to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will help you meet your goals.
After your consultation, a thorough examination will be performed. Taking the best testing techniques from orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic examinations assures a more acurate diagnosis. As Drs. Kirk and Valerie McVay always say, “To look is to know, not to look is to guess!”
Your specific health problem may require us to take X-rays to get a full understanding of your condition. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays, and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Once the history and examinations have been performed, the doctors will study your condition to determine your main concern i.e. “What’s causing your problem?” Once the cause is found, Dr. McVay will discuss the results of your findings. Finding the cause is the most important part of your recovery. Sometimes this part of the process may take time. When they have found the cause, the doctors will answer the four most popular questions:
After discussing your results and going over your goals, the doctors will make recommendations for you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If we believe we can help you, we will tell you that too.
The road to success begins with the very first step. Patients will begin down the road of recovery with their first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, therapy, and/or exercises. Treatment is always interactive. We prefer it this way so that you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment that will be the most comfortable for you.
If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Everybody is unique and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan.
